You might cry after you try this next recipe. I know I almost did! But I have an excuse, I'm pregnant... and I LOVE FOOD! I owe this amazing recipe to my part Asian husband. ;) Last month I was sick in bed with the 24-hour flu and the only stinking thing that sounded good was Ramen Noodles. Mind you, we stopped eating Ramen Noodles LONG ago back when we found it had MSG, no nutritional value and full of gluten. There was no hope for this glorious comfort food to ever be seen in our house again. So, why the sudden craving? Who knows. Luckily, my sweet husband grew up eating Ramen Noodles! (He claims before most of America was eating them because they had special hook-ups with his mom being from Hawaii and all...) So if anyone were to try recreate it, he'd be the man. When he brought up the soup for me to eat in bed, it was almost enough to start the ol' water works. This soup not only hit the spot but I started thinking...You realize what this means?! Gluten Free College students have been liberated! They can now eat the same as gluten-infested eaters... you're welcome college students. Go ahead and feel free to dim-sung this up! Add peas, chicken, corn, whatever! It all tastes good. And thank you to my wonderful husband for taking care of me! I love you! I'm so thankful we get to be together forever! ;) Gluten Free Ramen Noodles (Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Sugar Free, MSG Free, etc.) Created by jalene's husband Brandon Ingredients:
A funny but sad note... Food for thought: A day after posting this great recipe Yahoo published a crazy article on a teen's strange Ramen noodle addiction! Apparently she's been eating mainly Ramen for the past 13 years! (YIKES!) According to her doctors she is malnourished and has the health of an 80 year old! Sad. So the lesson here, eat a well balanced diet and parents, don't allow your kids to make poor eating choices. You're the boss. You can say no. :)

Thanks for this! My son really liked ramen noodles for a few tries before he realized they hurt his stomach. I've been wondering what to make him if he ever gets sick. I haven't tried a chicken noodle gluten free yet but this will be much easier.

You and your husband are my heroes! I've been craving ramen since I started my graduate program. This was fantastic! I didn't have any curry powder so I substituted turmeric. Which I'm not sure what that is or why I have it but it made it ramen noodle yellow and didn't taste bad so...:) thank you thank you!

I was looking for a Gluten free Ramen Noodle substitue for a Nappa cabbage salad, for the crunchy part with the almonds and dresssing.

Marilyn, dry rice noodles taste too different than dry ramen noodles so I wouldn't suggest them in a salad. I would try adding crunchy tortilla strips or crunched corn chips for the crunch. Add them just before serving to ensure they don't get soggy. Other than than, I'm not sure would would be a good sub...Hope that helps!

I was wondering the same thing. I bet fried bean thread noodles would work. I've used them in other Asian inspired salads.

My son is allergic to wheat, soy, peanuts, dairy/milk, and eggs so I wanted to find something different he could have. I notice you are a mom to kids who are dairy free and gluten free, is it because they are allergic or just your personal choice? I ask because since my son is allergic to all these foods I was scared he about his health because of the nutrients in these foods but are the foods he is allergic to really that healthy anyway?

Destiny, my kids are gluten and dairy free because they are allergic but also it's become a personal choice as well as we learn more about those foods. We just try to eat healthier all around. We have lots of recipes that avoid the foods your son is allergic too. Let me know if you need any help converting recipes too for his needs. I'd love to help! Good luck!

I just tried this - really close to the real thing. It definitely satisfies the ramen craving! I just wish there were noodles out there that had the consistency of a ramen noodle. Rice noodles are just a little dense (I don't mind them but my kids are pickier). Thank you for posting! I love your blog. I'm off to try your chocolate pudding now.

Try Lotus Goods Forbidden Ramen has the exact consistency as wheat noodles of top ramen or Maruchan. I love the Forbidden black noodles but they have a ton of different kinds of rice noodles.

Thank you for posting this! I've seen those noodles but never even considered that I could eat commercial pasta of any kind. I am sensitive to a lot of ingredients in factory foods but I'm going to read this label next grocery trip. Hopefully, I can try them out.

I am so excited. When I'm sick, my body craves ramen (salt?). This recipe is awesome. I even made it with homemade broth from some roasted chicken carcasses I had frozen. Yum. Gluten free Ramen AND bone broth. It tastes amazingly like the ramen packets & NO msg!

This ramen is so good. My husband and I are on a low carb diet. Instead of the ramen noodle, I use Miracle noodle also know as Shirataki noodle, also gluten free. I make the broth just as it says, then after washing the noodles put the noodles in the boiling broth for three mins and it is done.

THANK YOU tears of joy have been brought to my eye. I am going into the kitchen and making this right meow. Thank you again

Just wanted to let you know how much we loved your recipe, especially my nine-year-old who has recently gone gluten free and is mourning the loss of the "good foods". He told after the first bite that he wanted to be gluten free forever!

I am so excited to try this! I have been using the Thai Kitchen noodle packs to make ramen-like noodles on nights when I am too tired after class to make real meals. Those have been great because they are less than a dollar a pack, but this will probably be so much cheaper!

Oh my goodness!!! Funny that you said you were pregnant and craving it. I am cute pregnant haven’t ate Ramen in years, saw a picture someone posted on Facebook of ramen noodles and suddenly was craving it so bad. I’m gluten free now and knew there was no way I’d be able to recreate it myself so off to Pinterest I went. It lead me to you! 😍 I can’t wait to try this tomorrow!! Thank you for sharing!
