One day my husband came home from work to find Audrey and I laughing and eating popcorn on the couch. The best part...we weren't even watching a movie! We were just enjoying each other and our snack. I have posted a lot of different kinds of recipes before but this one is so easy and maybe you may not think about being gluten-free. I'll also show you how to make it dairy-free as well. It is quick and a great healthy snack for little ones or yourself!
FIRST start with a good ol' popcorn popper. If you don't have one, you should! They are a great investment and pay for themselves over time. Also, they make SO MUCH HEALTHIER popcorn than microwaved!
We use organic, non-GMO popcorn but use what you can get.
WHY WE DON'T USE MICROWAVEABLE POPCORN: "Chemicals (such as Perfluorachemicals) used in grease-resistant food packaging, such as popcorn bags, are associated with reduced fertility, thyroid problems, and a suppressed immune system in animal studies," says Sarah Janssen M.D., senior scientist for the Natural Resources Defense Council.

After it's popped, we spray on a little bit of olive oil using my olive oil misto (which is basically a reusable misting spray bottle and also a MUCH HEALTHIER version than it's cousin: PAM cooking spray. If you haven't tried olive oil on your popcorn you should! It's not as savory as butter but it's a great alternative if you are dairy-free.
Then, from here we go either 1 of 2 directions:
Sometimes we like it just simple and lightly sprinkle some sea salt. We use Premier Pink Salt (or "Princess Salt" as we like to call it because of it's great natural pink color. It comes from somewhere by Hawaii and has great minerals in it as well!) You can get this through my husband's clinic if you are interested.
Other times we sprinkle on Nutritional Flakes which look like this. It has kind of a nutty flavor to it and is EXTREMELY good for you! In fact, you can add it to any of your other meals that you're looking to add nutrients to. I've even seen it used in place of Parmesan cheese before in Vegan recipes. (You can get this from my husband's clinic as well.)
Enjoy some tonight! Happy weekend. We'll catch you again on Monday.
